John Deere recently announced 17 new 6M Series tractors, including 10 with power ratings that top 150 horsepower (110 kilowatts). The series begins with the compact 6M 95 and ranges up to the 6M 250, covering a wide range of needs. The tractors are equipped with 4.5 or 6.8-litre engines that can deliver up to 20 HP (14.7 kW) of additional power via Deere’s Intelligent Power Management system during transport or for power take-off (PTO)-intensive work.

The 6M Series offers multiple transmission choices, including the mechanical PowrQuad Plus and the stepless AutoPowr. All 6-cylinder models in the range have the option of larger hydraulic pumps rated for 155 litres (41 gallons) per minute or up to 195 LPM (51.5 GPM) for operating larger implements. There are also several tyre options for reduced soil compaction.

The 17 models of the 6M Series cater to a diverse range of farm operations. The entry-level 6M 95 has a maximum power of 120 HP (88 kW) with IPM and is ideal for front loader work in confined spaces. On the larger end, the 6M 250 has a maximum power of 281 HP (207 kW) with IPM for heavy-duty tasks. The small-frame 6M 150 packs 177 HP (130 kW) with IPM in a compact size. The midsize 6M 145 has a 6-cylinder engine, and two new models, the 6M 220 and the 6M 240, join the large-frame segment. The range even includes two extra-large frame tractors, the all-new 6M 230 and 6M 250.

    Speed & Power

6M Series transmission options include the mechanical PowrQuad Plus with soft shifting, the AutoQuad Plus with speed matching from the CommandQuad Plus, and the stepless hydro-mechanical AutoPowr. The AutoPowr transmission is also available with the right-hand console. All models offer the 50 km/h (31 mph) option to save time during road transport.

Depending on the model, the tractors have rear-hitch lift capacities ranging from 5.7 to 9.9 tonnes (6.3 to 10.9 U.S. tons) and a hydraulic system that delivers 114 LPM (30 GPM) to 195 LPM.

“This combination of power, payload capacity, hydraulic performance, and axle options makes the 6M Series models a reliable and efficient choice for farmers who are looking for high-performance and versatile tractors that present great comfort while being as convenient and straightforward to operate as possible,” says Philippe Steinmann, product marketing manager for the 6M tractors in Europe.

    Custom Control

Operators can customise the tractors’ control functions with options for a right-hand console or the CommandARM. A new corner A-post display provides an adjustable overview of essential tractor functions. A panoramic roof and a large glass area give operators maximum visibility.

    Precision Farming

The 6M tractors are loaded with precision ag technology, including AutoTrac, Section Control, and Variable Rate Application to optimise performance.
