Steyr FieldOps Boosts Benefit From In-Field Data Capture

This post is courtesy of CNH Industrial.

Steyr is launching a farm, field and machine data management app aimed at easing farmers’ analysis and decision-making based on data capture not only from STEYR tractors, but all connected machines in a farm’s fleet, regardless of their make.

The brand-new STEYR FieldOps online portal, which succeeds STEYR S-Fleet, can be accessed instantly and securely from PCs and mobile devices via a single login that produces a consistent interface. It monitors and automatically records machine performance and field data, providing not only an instant overview of field operations to enable decision-making based on agronomic information, but also securely-recorded data for longer-term analysis and planning. All of this is possible across STEYR and other tractor makes, provided they have connected capability.

Key features include remote display viewing, allowing owners – and dealers, if granted owner permission – to connect to the driver’s in-cab terminal screen and remotely provide advice on tractor and activity operation, eliminating the need for travel to the field, minimizing downtime and cost and maximizing productivity. Owners and managers are able to monitor machines to assess tractor location and work progress, to plan refuelling support, decide on the next job, and ensure security.

The FieldOps home-screen can be tailored by preference, to adjust settings and set notifications, parameters and alarms for each machine. As all this is fully integrated and compatible with third-party application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow seamless data transfer also between other farm management systems and STEYR FieldOps, a full view of farm operations can be formed. This spans factors such as machine productivity, fuel consumption and tractor location, with continuous updates for real-time and long-term decision-making covering factors from labour management to maintenance scheduling.

New API Partnerships Eliminate Data Integration Barriers

With more than 40 API partnerships as of June 2024, STEYR customers have easier access to their operating and field data. Thanks to these new agreements, navigating within digital platforms is much easier, providing a further boost to productivity.

    Connectivity Included: New From STEYR

On selected tractor models* STEYR is also introducing a new Connectivity Included arrangement that eliminates time-based subscription charges to connect STEYR tractors to FieldOps, meaning the full value of data capture can be exploited with no ongoing subscription costs. It is also available on existing tractors with compatible telematics modems and a STEYR FieldOps (previously S-Fleet) account, with activation possible via a one-off subscription purchase via a STEYR dealer. This simplifies subscription management throughout the lifetime of a customer’s machine, provides continuous access to connected technology, and enhances the resale process.

With Connectivity Included, agronomic insights can help boost overall yield potential, optimize crop management practices, and maximize profits. Real-time** machine and telematics data can help reduce idle time, improve efficiency, and co-ordinate multi-machine tasks. Connectivity Included also helps minimize downtime and maximize productivity by ensuring potential issues are identified and addressed promptly. STEYR FieldOps is downloadable from the App Store and Google Play Store.

More details on STEYR FieldOps are available at this website, while products covered by Connectivity Included, and an updated list of API partnerships, can be sourced from STEYR dealers.

*Connectivity Included will be available on new qualifying STEYR tractors from the 6200 Absolut CVT and above, as well as Terrus CVT units built on or after October 1, 2024. Acceptance of End User License Agreement (EULA) is required. Connectivity Included will be active for the useful life of the PCM/PCMF modem. If the modem is no longer capable of receiving current cellular services, any modem hardware upgrades are not the responsibility of STEYR Traktoren.

**Real-time monitoring data transfers in approximately 3-5 seconds following each machine action and location change. Real-time monitoring features are currently only available for STEYR Plus, Absolut CVT and Terrus CVT models factory fitted with the A1000 receiver. These features will be phased in across other platforms in future updates.
